These 40cm long Alutherm mittens give protection for extremely high contact heat i.e. investment casting. Made of a glass fabric mitten covered with fine stainless steel chain mail to dissipate heat. Internal lining in flame-retardant wool cloth for comfort and increased insulation. Ambidextrous for increased usable lifetime. Certified to 500°C for 15 seconds, the manufacturer advises limited contact for temperatures up to 1000°C. Easy removal. Pair.
The different options for lining thickness increases the layers of wool insulation, effectively delaying the time it takes for the heat to travel through the glove to the wearer, allowing for slightly longer use lengths. Allow to cool between uses.

    The manufacturer recommends: Limited contact up to 1000°C (e.g. handling hot refractory bricks). The insulation time depends on the temperature of the object. When the heat has penetrated the mitten, make a sudden movement of the arm to release the mitten from the hand. The temperature indicates the peak temperature of the external material. Stainless steel chainmail has a heat dissipating effect and provides very high mechanical resistance while maintaining a certain flexibility. The mitten is ambidextrous/reversible to allow use of both sides: by reversing the mittens, the top ends up in the palm of the other hand and the lifespan of the mittens is therefore doubled.
